GALLOWAY HERD REDUCTION
A large number of our cows and heifers are now available to purchase for the first time in eight years. Our herd has met the carrying capacity of our grass resources and it is now necessary to downsize. These cattle have many unique attributes:
Purebred: 100% purebred Black Galloways & White Galloways, most of which can be registered or appendixed.
Grass Genetics: Cows have been bred from bulls out of early 1960’s A.I. sires selected for tenderness. Resulting in structural soundness, longevity, compact size and early finishing.
Organic : Entire ranch has been managed organically since 2000 and has been certified since 2003. All cattle born since 2003 are certified organic and can be used immediately in an existing organic operation.
Easy Calving : All cows and heifers calve on their own in the open range and very rarely need assistance.
Hardy : Tired of feeding to maintain fat levels all winter? The Galloway’s double hair coat makes them exceptionally hardy despite our extremely harsh winter conditions.
Long-Lived and Fertile : Many of our Galloways calve every year well into their mid-teens.
Docile : Despite being range cattle our cows are docile and easy to handle. Naturally geared towards sound maternal traits.
Low-Maintenance Health : Reduce your handling time and associated costs. The herd thrives on grass, salt and hay alone. No additional supplements or medications are used, not even vaccinations.
Prices: These are average prices, prices for individual cows may vary slightly. For more information, please email Rob rob@montanagrasslandsbeef.com
Prices include delivery within 100 miles of Livingston, Montana. Transportation to any place in the country can be arranged. Average prices for delivery are $200-$350 per animal depending on location.
